The European QCA Conference (EQCA) will take place at Erasmus University Rotterdam, from 7–9 December 2026!
The European QCA Conference brings together an international community of researchers who apply, develop, teach, and critically discuss QCA and related configurational approaches.
There are four ways to participate:
1️⃣ Attend without a submission
Join the keynotes, plenaries, workshops, paper sessions, expert discussions, and networking activities.
2️⃣ Paper Development Workshop (PDW)
Working on a QCA paper and looking for constructive feedback? The PDW is particularly aimed at PhD researchers, early-career scholars, and researchers using QCA for the first time. Submit an extended abstract of 500–1,000 words.
3️⃣ Lead a Methods Workshop
Propose an interactive workshop on topics such as calibration, robustness, truth-table analysis, software, temporal QCA, mixed methods, unusual data, or reporting standards. Proposals should be 250–500 words.
4️⃣ Present a Method Development Paper
work advancing QCA and configurational methods—from calibration, necessity and sufficiency, limited diversity, robustness, and temporal QCA to large/digital datasets, software developments, mixed-method integration, open science, and configurational theorizing. Submit an extended abstract of 500–1,000 words.

💶 Registration
€150 for the full three-day conference.
There will also be an opportunity to apply for a registration fee waiver.
